What is a Puzzlethon™? It is a
unique fundraiser created especially for the Connecticut autism
community. It is like a walk-a-thon, except participants raise money by
doing puzzles. |
|
 |
Why puzzles? The puzzle piece is
the symbol of the autism community. Many individuals with autism are good at
puzzles. People with autism can enjoy meaningful social interactions
doing puzzles with non-autistic individuals.

Come for the day, for an hour, or just drop off your donations! There
will be all sorts of puzzles, including jigsaws, crosswords, sudoku,
large floor, wooden, hard, easy (and impossible!). Bring your own
puzzles and share the fun.
Raise funds via online fundraising at
www.puzzlethon.org.
Instructions for how to use the on-line site are also
found here. Or, if you prefer the old fashioned face to face method,
download a pledge form, one for
Wallingford and one for
West
Hartford. We’ve even drafted up a
script for your
kids to use when they contact family and friends to ask for support.
Tell your family and friends,
post a
flyer, get the word out!
Any questions? Call us at 888-453-4975 or e-mail. We hope to see you
there!
ASCONN’s first ever Puzzlethon™ was a great success. Between 75-100
people turned out at Hall High School in West Hartford to puzzle away
the afternoon with jigsaws, sudoku and word search puzzles. Many thanks
to all the teams who raised money to support ASCONN’s programming and
many thanks to the great friends and family who came out on Saturday to
enjoy a day of food, fun and puzzling. The food was graciously donated
by Pizzeria Uno, Pepsi supplied us with soda, Hall High School lent us
their cafeteria and really helpful custodial staff, and Discovery Toys,
DoReMi & You, Penny Press and many friends and family donated puzzles to
the cause.
